We Are… starting small to dream big

Ever wanted to exhibit your work? Then welcome to Desk Drawer Exhibition, a chance to learn, create, build and ultimately put on an online exhibition all from a desk drawer!

What is Desk Drawer Exhibition?

For aspiring artists, whereas much of our time may be spent sitting numbingly at the desks of our day jobs, privately our passions might be elsewhere. And we fight to make room for this, keeping it close but also often hidden away.

The desk drawer could well be that space. A space that could exist for hopes and dreams. For something that lays within oneself, something that despite its safe cocoon reveals and allows us to be seen. Opening up to an alternative world of possibilities, full of creativity and wonder…or anything else that comes to mind.

Participants are invited to create/stage a mini exhibition contained in a drawer. The exhibition can include drawings, paintings, or objects made by themselves that reflect on the themes above and stretch them further. Participants are free to interpret them as they wish, be as creative as possible, express themselves and be open to imagination.

After creating their works, participants can submit their mini-exhibition as a series of photographs and a video, along with a brief write-up. The visual presentation of the work is open to each artist to create as they like. Thereafter, each participant will have their mini exhibition displayed on a custom webpage as part of the Desk Drawer Exhibition project.
